  • Confirm you’re speaking with the homeowner, ask if anyone else needs to be involved, and get a time commitment.

  • Explain the purpose of the FPI and how it helps prevent costly future issues.

2. Tour the Home with the Client using the FPI Checklist and the Plumbing Inspection form in ServiceTitan

  • Ask the client to join you for the inspection of the home. Use the FPI Checklist to guide the inspection. This ensures consistency across visits. 


3. Document the Findings in ServiceTitan

  • Use the Plumbing Inspection Form in ServiceTitan to document findings as you go.

  • Include photos and notes for anything that requires follow-up, repairs, or replacement.

    • Notice the symptoms with the homeowner—don’t just describe them. Bring the client with you, point out the symptoms directly, and ensure they see, hear, or experience what you’re seeing. This builds awareness and trust.

    • Utilize F.O.R.M. (Family, Occupation, Recreation, Materials) while touring the home to build rapport, uncover motivations, and personalize your recommendations based on what matters most to the homeowner.

4. Communicate Findings to the Homeowner

  • Use SICS (Symptoms, Issues, Consequences, Solutions) to explain what you found.
