ServiceTitan's Tap-to-Pay feature allows for quick, secure, card-present transactions, which saves time and greatly lowers credit card fees compared to manual keyed-in transactions. You can accept payments with Tap-to-Pay directly with your iPhone without having to use a credit card reader.
Step 1: Setting up your Managed Goettl Apple ID
Step 2: First Time Enrollment and Accepting Terms and Conditions
Did you complete Step 1 yet? If not, please see the above step and ensure you've set up your Managed Goettl Apple ID before proceeding.
You'll also need to be assigned assigned to a job and ready to collect payment. Have your dispatch team assign a fake test job to you, if necessary.
- On your iPhone (not your iPad), log in to the ServiceTitan Field Mobile app.
- Go into the invoice section in the ServiceTitan Field mobile app on the far-right side.

- Scroll down and tap on the Pay button.

- The Payment Amount will already be pre-filled with the invoice total. You can do a partial payment by entering a different amount and using a different payment method, or leaving it as is.
- Tap on Payment Type, and select a credit card option from the list, and Tap To Pay will appear as a button.

- After tapping on Tap To Pay, the customer's Payment Authorization screen will appear. Have the customer sign with their finger, and then tap Charge $[whatever the dollar amount is] at the bottom.

- You'll be greeted to a one-time Terms and Conditions form you'll need to accept. Tap on Continue at the bottom.

- Note: If you don't see this, and instead see a spinning circle, make sure you've already signed into your work iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad (if you have one). If you need help with this, please email mobilesupport@goettl.com, and let them know you're trying to use Tap-to-Pay in ServiceTitan.
- You'll then be greeted to a long, boring list of Terms and Conditions. Tap Agree to continue, and you'll then see Account Linked ✔️.

- You should see a Tutorial on how to use Tap to Pay - you can either read through it, or tap Next in the upper-right corner several times.

- You'll then get an offer to get updates about Tap to Pay - tap on Not Now at the bottom.

- Finally, you'll be greeted by one last You're Ready! page. Tap on text Start accepting payments in the middle of the screen to proceed. And that's it! You'll never have to go through this again, and can use Tap-to-Pay like normal. Time to reward yourself with some coffee!

Collecting Payments on iPad (coming soon)
Heads up! This feature is coming soon in a soon to be released ServiceTitan Field Mobile app update.
Tap-to-Pay directly on an iPad is not available as iPads don’t support NFC. However, you can still easily complete Tap-to-Pay on your work iPad by scanning a QR code with your work iPhone when collecting payment. Best of all, this will automatically prompt you any time you attempt to use Tap-to-Pay on your iPad as well.
This section will be updated when this feature becomes available.
Saving or Storing a Customer's Card
You can indeed save a customer's card to be ran in the future, however it can be easy to miss. On the payment screen, be sure to scroll down below the Payment Type menu.
Under here, you'll see the checkbox Save card for future transactions. Check this box before tapping on Tap to Pay.
