Adding a preferred technician to a location

Assigning a preferred technician in ServiceTitan allows you to designate a specific technician for a customer location—ensuring consistency and building trust through familiar, repeat service. When a preferred tech is assigned, ServiceTitan will automatically recommend or prioritize that technician when jobs are booked for the location. This can lead to stronger customer relationships, more efficient service delivery, and better overall job outcomes.Preferred technicians are especially helpful for high-touch customers, ongoing maintenance contracts, or specialized equipment where technician familiarity adds value.
When a preferred technician is selected for a location, the default capacity displayed in SchedulingPro will be the capacity for that technician. The CXR can change the filter if no times are available.

DispatchPro will only take the preferred technician into consideration if "Location Preference" is enabled for the job business unit in DispatchPro setting 4.3.
To add a preferred technician to a location...
In the example below, we will be adding technician Victoria Russell as the preferred technician for Goettl customer "Sunlight Financial."
On the customer page, navigate to Locations
Click on the Location Name
On the right side, click the edit (pencil) icon next to Additional Info
Click the Preferred Technician dropdown
Select the technician from the dropdown and click save
