Adding and Managing Technician Shifts

Adding and Managing Technician Shifts

ServiceTitan’s Technician Shifts feature allows you to identify the dates and times you expect your technicians to be working.
Adjustable Capacity Planning (ACP) uses Technician Shifts to calculate a branch’s available capacity to schedule jobs and is used by Dispatch Pro to determine which technicians are available to be assigned jobs on a particular day.
There are three types of shifts that can be created. (Click each for a video of creating that type of shift)
  1. Scheduled Shifts- Represent time when a technician is expected to be working on a given day. These are considered Regular shifts. This type of shift creates “Available Capacity” in ACP and makes the tech eligible to have appointments assigned to them by Dispatch Pro. Regular shifts appear in white on the Dispatch board.
  2. Time Off Shifts- These represent dates/times when a technician has planned time off. Time Off shift can be added on days when a tech has an existing shift and will override that shift. A Time Off shift removes available capacity from ACP and does not allow Dispatch Pro to assign appointments to the tech during the shift. Time Off shifts appear in grey on the Dispatch board with the title of the shift displayed.
  3. On-Call Shifts- These allow us to identify techs who are expected to be available to work jobs outside the normal schedule. These shifts are informational only and do not create available capacity or allow Dispatch Pro to assign appointments to that tech during the On-Call shift. On-Call shifts display in orange on the Dispatch board.
After Technician Shifts are created, they are displayed on each technician’s schedule on the Dispatch board. The shifts are color-coded, so you can easily see which techs are working and which are not.
