Returning Excess Items from Existing Inventory Stock (truck or warehouse)
When you encounter a situation where there is excess stock in a warehouse (physical or truck) due to over-purchase or other reasons, you will create an Inventory return to remove the stock from the warehouse and record the credit received.
The creation of the return in ServiceTitan will generally happen after the return process has been started on the vendor’s portal or e-commerce site. From there the status of the return process can be monitored so you can update the return’s status in ServiceTitan accordingly.
Since returns of existing stock are not job-related, this type of return must be created from the Inventory screen.
Once the return has its status updated to Returned, the on-hand quantity of the items included in the return will be reduced in the warehouse they were returned from.
