Inventory Transfers

Inventory Transfers

Inventory Transfers are used to move inventory items between two different inventory locations. The transfer can occur between two trucks, two warehouses, or between a warehouse and a truck.
The most common uses for Inventory Transfers at Goettl include:
  1. Replenishing Trucks that are restocked from an existing warehouse (Including a Consignment Warehouse)
  2. Deactivating a truck and moving its stock to a new truck
  3. When materials needed for a job aren’t on a truck and are transferred from another truck or warehouse
Inventory Transfers are NOT exported to our accounting system. They are batched and bypassed.

Inventory Transfers can be created and managed by going to the Inventory screen and selecting the Transfers option on the left side of the screen.
The process of performing an Inventory Transfer in ServiceTitan involves three steps. Each of these steps is represented by a “status” that is applied to the transfer. Inventory transfers are classified or grouped by these statuses in the Inventory screen, allowing you to track, manage and complete your transfers. The number of transfers currently in each status appears after the status name.

  1. Pending- The pending status occurs after the initial transfer has been created with a list of items to move from one warehouse to another.
  2. Picked- The picked status indicates the listed materials have been removed from the source warehouse.
  3. Received- The Received status indicates the materials pulled from the source warehouse have been added to the destination warehouse. This is the step that completes the transfer and results in the reduction in on-hand quantity of the items in the source warehouse and an increase in the on-hand quantity of the items in the destination warehouse.
  4. Canceled- If it is determined that a transfer that was created is not needed, it can be canceled. Those canceled transfers will appear under the Canceled tab.
