When a technician is assigned to a truck, all of their part usage is applied to that assigned truck. If a technician needs to change trucks, for any reason, the change also needs to be made to their truck assignment in ServiceTitan. If the change is not made, all inventory transactions related to that technician will be applied against the wrong warehouse.

The following is the process of changing a tech's truck assignment to another truck with the SAME Inventory Template. 

To change a technician’s truck assignment to a truck with the same Inventory Template

The template assigned to the original truck and the new truck should be confirmed to be the same before the process begins. The template assigned to a truck is displayed in the truck list in the Inventory Locations  screen. (Settings--> Inventory--> Inventory Locations)

1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

2. In the Search bar above the Settings list type “Inventory”

3. Select Inventory Locations from the Inventory menu

4. In the list of Trucks, find the truck to which you will be assigning the technician. If the list of trucks is long, you can search for the new truck by clicking the filter or funnel icon in the truck name column. In the filter box type the truck number or part of the truck name then press Enter.

5. Click Edit at the end of the row containing the truck you are assigning the tech to.

Note- You do not need to remove the tech from their originally assigned truck first. The tech will automatically be removed from their original truck when assigned to the new truck.

6. Select the technician’s name from the Technician Attached field

7. Click Save
